We like to take the time to get to know you a bit first, and then we can choose a horse that will compliment you and help you on your new equestrian journey. You will get to know your horse safely from the ground first with an afternoon of fun interaction, because our horses like to get to know you too (so they have something to talk about in the evenings with their buddies). It impresses us every week how the horses often find “their human” on the second day of someone’s stay, it’s humbling to watch them owning their role in the partnership!
A commonly asked question by our prospective guests is, “I am a complete beginner, can I come to the ranch?” The answer is a most definite “YES!” Here at the Rocking Z we love all levels of abilities, whether you are an Olympian Dressage rider or never even touched a horse before. We have a program that suits all needs and we work with you at the pace that keeps you happy and safe. We want you to enjoy our horses and have the ‘trip of a life time’ experience here at the ranch.
Then, throughout your stay we will work with you entirely at your comfort level and speed. There is no pressure from holding someone else back or to do as everyone else, as there are enough wranglers to allow for flexibility and tailor each experience to your needs. We love to teach every step that you want to learn, from grooming and tacking to advanced cow working maneuvers. We also love to advance ground skills with on-line and liberty work for our guests, something that is quite rare to find the opportunity to work on for many ranches.
